Greendale started as an ag lending shop and grew into something a little broader: a team that finances operations and advises the businesses behind them, because the two problems are rarely separate.
Greendale is the vision of Scott Robnett. Scott and his brother David grew up in the farming community of Kinmundy, Illinois — population 750 — where their parents and grandparents were farmers who also ran agricultural businesses of their own. The Greendale name comes from their parents' business, Greendale Grain and Fertilizer, which the family ran for 25 years before selling it to retire.
Scott and David now serve as strategic advisors to Greendale, drawing on their combined 20-plus years of mortgage experience to help guide the company's direction and advise clients directly. When they set out to build an ag lending business, they knew it would take lenders who understood farming, not just financing.
That's why Aaron Johnson, our CEO, joined the team. He brings decades of hands-on ag experience and is active in a farming operation of his own. Together, we have access to financing through Farmer Mac, banks, and insurance companies, and we do the research to find the best option for your operation.
Every conversation starts with what you grow or raise, how the cash actually moves, and what a bad year looks like — before it starts with paperwork.
Loan terms and advisory plans are built around your cycle, not a generic template pulled from a different industry.
Relationships that only work when commodity prices cooperate aren't relationships. We're built for the long haul.
